Get rid of my books? Not hardly!
book shelf project 1 ~ striatic {notes}
I have an e-reader already. After a fashion. I have an iPod Touch with all the e-reader apps on it. I get the free books, so I always have something to read. Growing up as a librarian's daughter, a book always lived in my bag. Now it's just a lot lighter. I still read paper books. You can't get an author or illustrator (Mom's a children's librarian) to sign your e-book. A real book is a much more fun way to receive a gift. I love the convenience of having e-books though. I will never get rid of my books, it's sentimental for too many. But I won't say "never".

This weekend I tried to "purge" my books. You know, the ones I haven't read in years.
I didn't go well.
Read on.
I purged some recently. Old books that someone's mom gave me and Monkey (after Monkey was already too old for them -- but not good picture books) and a ton of trashy romance novels with Fabio on the cover. I took them to Half Price Books. I got $8.50. Which is fine, Monkey got 3 books for presents and we got 12¢ change.
You went to the dark side! I thought for sure you were against ebooks. Sigh. I'll let it go because your bookshelf is AWESOME!
I don't no about the dark side. I still would rather buy a new book rather than an e-book or check one out from the library (much to Nana's chagrin). I like the way they smell. New book smell is the best. Even better than new car smell. That's right, I said it.
I wish I could claim that book shelf as my own. Though they look similar...
